Vaillant Group – Successful in Europe
Worldwide 8.200 staff ensure with their experience, competence and power of innovation the Vaillant Group top performance in the business areas heating technology and home products (Abru). The company’s Head Office is in Remscheid, Germany. In 2004 total turnover increased to €1.6 billion (excluding Hepworth Building Products, that was sold in March 2005).
Heating Technology
With 8,000 employees, sales of more than 2.4 million appliances and a turnover of €1.6 billion we are a leading heating technology company in Europe. At the same time we are holding strong positions in important product segments like wall-hung, floor-standing, hot water and electric appliances with the most comprehensive range in the industry. Increasingly heating techniques based on renewable energy, like solar systems, photovoltaic systems and heat pumps, are also added to the range.
With wall-hung heating appliances Vaillant Group holds a market share of around 26 per cent, which makes it the Number One in Europe. Our sales of more than 1.4 million appliances per year made us even world market leader in this segment.
Our success is based on research and development which in turn is consistently led by customer requirements. Our R&D organisation with its 350 staff is one of the largest and most creative one in our industry. We hold numerous patents and apply for about 100 new ones each year.
Our international heating technology business in Europe and Asia as well as to a limited extent through exports also in Africa, the US and South America is run as a global network with external partners as well as with 70 own sites. This includes 14 production and 7 research and development sites in 7 European countries. Overall, the Vaillant Group and its heating technology products are present in more than 100 countries of the world.
Home Products
Abru in Belper/UK is one of Europe’s leading manufacturer of home products, such as aluminium ladders and working platforms. Around 230 staff achieved an annual turnover of €32 million in 2004.
